The Demoralized Marionette
The Demoralized Marionette
Blank white lies the silent field,
Like a paper splattered by the dark figures,
A pathless page of ghosts and shadows,
Leading up to the only hill
With its haunting dead tree;
Its fingers so proudly wear jewels of ropes and hooks,
And its feet wraps and wriggles skulls beneath,
With no longer a spirit, nor
A watching fiend,
The crows rest and caw on
The broken tree,
And the poor demoralized marionette,
Step by step his traces deleted,
But yet his strings still attached
And his confidence defeated,
He began to see the cycle
He had never completed,
Will come to an end if his life depleted,
On which he will come
